Property advisor DNG says landlords are leaving the market since the latest RPZ announcment.
The average cost of a house now tops €260,000 in the midlands and €600,000 in Dublin - as prices continue to rise.
That's according to the latest residential market review from property advisor DNG.
The cost of a house in the region is now up 9.9% in the last 12 months, and up 5.6% in the first half of this year.
It also reports the recent Government announcement on rent reforms is already leading to a sharp increase in the number of landlords leaving the market.
DNG's Head of Research, Paul Murgatroyd says that might be good news for those looking to buy - but it's not so good for tenants:
