Lidl is introducing a traffic light system at one of its stores in Offaly.
The system is designed to control the number of customers entering and exiting the store at any one time, in order to maintain social distancing during busy periods.
After successful trials, the supermarket chain is rolling out the new automated system in Birr, aswell as in Maynooth and Caherdavin in Co. Limerick.
The company intends to implement the measure across the country in the coming weeks.
