A former Environment Minister says a Supreme Court judgement on a Laois windfarm will serve to hold local authorities to account when it comes to climate action,

The Supreme Court upheld a High Court ruling last week to reverse a rejection of planning permission for the Coolglass Windfarm in Swan and Timahoe.

The decision suggests local authorities blocking windfarm developments without due consideration for the Climate Act will fail when it comes to planning decisions.
