17 events are to take place across the country today to celebrate National Women's Enterprise Day.
There's been an 18% jump in the number of women leading businesses who attend training by Local Enterprise offices.
Local Enterprise Office Offaly, spokesperson Orla Martin says the gender gap is narrowing in business:
Over 1,700 entrepreneurs are to take part in today's Local Enteriprise Office celebrations.
Events are being held across the country - including one in Birr for the midlands region.
Ms. Martin says entrepreneurs who are doing very well will be on hand to offer advice:
