Lough Ree RNLI Hoping To Raise €100,000 For New Boat House

Crews have assisted more than 1,000 people since the Athlone base was set up in 2012. 

Lough Ree RNLI is hoping to raise €100,000 to finish to their new boat house in Westmeath. 

€1.2 million is being spent on the building in Coosan Point, which will provide a base for the 35 volunteers and their lifeboat 'Tara Scougall'. 

Crews have responded to 400 call-outs and assisted more than 1,000 people since it was founded in 2012.
