That's the view of Offaly's Biodiversity Officer, as a new study from Queens and Ulster University shows young people are cautious about the idea of encountering one.
Just 32% of 10 to 11 year olds say they want lynx to be brought back to parts of Ireland, with the figure being 30% for wolves.
