From Clonmacnoise to Sean's Bar, the midlands will reach over 1 million viewers.
Over 1 million people across Europe are expected to get an insight into the best the midlands has to offer from a new documentary.
ARTE, a European TV channel, will be filming in Westmeath and Offaly, focusing on locations including Séan's Bar in Athlone, the oldest pub in Ireland.
In Offaly, Clonmacnoise and Tullamore DEW Distillery Experience will be featured.
45 minute episodes will be broadcast next spring, detailing what lies in Ireland's Hidden Heartlands.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, says they were delighted to support the production of the episodes:
"With around 1.1 million people in Germany and France expected to watch both episodes on the ARTE TV channel and streaming service, it’s a great way to inspire potential visitors by shining a spotlight on our rich culture, heritage and history, as well as our breath-taking landscapes.
Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of activity, to inspire travellers in Germany and France to put Ireland on their holiday wish-list."
