The findings will go towards improving the experience for patients.
A major survey is underway to measure the quality of care at the three Midlands Regional Hospitals.
1,700 people over 16, who spent 24 hours or more in a local hospital, and were discharged during the month of May are being invited to participate in the fifth annual National Inpatient Experience Survey,.
The survey, which is open until August 12th, contains 67 questions on topics like admission, trust in hospital staff, and care during the pandemic.
Head of the National Care Experience Programme with HIQA, Tracy O’Carroll says the feedback from patients will go towards improving the quality of care:
The National Inpatient Experience Survey is a part of the National Care Experience Programme, a joint initiative by the independent health regulator HIQA, the HSE and the Department of Health.
Eligible patients received a survey questionnaire by post at the end of June. The survey can be completed in paper form or online, and must be submitted by 5pm on 12 August 2022.
To be eligible, patients must have a postal address in the Republic of Ireland.
The findings of the 2022 survey will be published in the autumn on yourexperience.ie.
The National Care Experience Programme also includes the National Nursing Home Experience Survey and the National Maternity Bereavement Experience Survey, which are taking place for the first time this year. A further survey on end-of-life care will be rolled out in 2023.
