The arrest came as part of a major operation over the weekend.
A man has been arrested for a number of crimes, including burglary, in Laois.
As part of an investigation by Portarlington Gardaí over the weekend, he was detained in relation to three burglaries and two thefts, as well as two incidents of trespassing with intent.
He was also arrested for a case of criminal damage, and three incidents of interfering with a vehicle.
The man has since appeared before the courts.
Gardaí say it was evident during the course of the investigation a number of crimes went unreported - they're encouraging everyone to report all matters to 999 or their local Garda Station.
