A man who was arrested in relation to a serious assault in the midlands has been released without charge.
He was being detained at a Garda station in the region following the incident on Patrick Street in Mullingar on Sunday morning, which saw a man in his 50s need to be taken to hospital - it’s understood his condition is critical.
