A man barricaded himself in a house for almost 24 hours.
A media blackout has ended after a man in his 20s barricaded himself into a house in County Laois.
Gardai were alerted to the incident in Ballyroan shortly after 10 o'clock last night and became concerned for his welfare.
A garda negotiator attended the scene and the situation was resolved shortly before half 9 tonight.
The man's currently being assessed by medical personnel.
