A man has appeared before the courts in connection with an attempted robbery in Laois.
Gardai were called to the scene in the Knockmay area of Portlaoise shortly after 4.30 on Saturday evening.
They arrested a man in his 20's and he was later charged.
No one was injured in the incident.
