54-year-old Peter Keaney, of 7 Hillside Close, Monksland Athlone, Co Roscommon, last appeared before Athlone District Court last month.
He's charged with section 3 assault causing harm to a woman in her 80s after allegedly entering Sonas Nursing Home on April 29th.
Mr. Keaney is due to reappear before Athlone District Court via video link today, when a psychiatric report is expected to be furnished.
