The man was arrested by Mullingar Gardaí on Monday.
A man charged with two counts of human trafficking is due to reappear before Mullingar District Court on December 15.
The man, who cannot be named due to the nature of the offences appeared yesterday morning before Judge Bernadette Owens where a bail application was lodged.
Gardaí objected to bail on the basis that the accused would be a flight risk.
The man was arrested as part of ongoing investigations into human trafficking and related activity.
He was charged with conspiring with another on dates unknown between April 1, 2016 and November 1, 2016, to traffick a woman for the purpose of exploitation.
He was further charged with conspiring with another on dates unknown between July 1, 2017 and August 27, 2017, to traffick a second woman for the purpose of exploitation.
Judge Bernadette Owens, following the contested bail hearing, remanded the accused in custody for a further two weeks. He will reappear on December 15.
