A man in his 50s has died following a crash in Westmeath.
His car hit a ditch on the R395 in Castlepollard at 6.40pm yesterday evening.
He was the sole occupant of the car.
The road is currently closed, with local diversions in place, and a technical examination set to be carried out.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Teevrevagh area are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
