It’s understood a number of legally-held firearms have been seized.
A man has been seriously injured following an incident at a midlands home.
It occurred in Daingean yesterday evening.
A man in his 50s, and a woman in her 40s, were taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment after the incident.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the man has since been transferred to St. James’ Hospital.
It’s understood a number of legally-held firearms have been seized, and a technical examination of the scene has been conducted by a Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
Gardaí are investigating the incident, but it’s understood they’re not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
