Mary Lou McDonald Rules Herself Out Of Presidential Race

The Sinn Féin leader won't be seeking a nomination for the October election.

Mary Lou McDonald won't be Sinn Féin's candidate in next month's presidential election. 

The party leader says she wants to lead from the front, and told her colleagues at the weekend she won't be putting her name forward. 

Sinn Féin will bring a proposal to members about the party's stance on the presidency next week.
