A minimum investment of €120 million is needed in Budget 2025 for mental health services.
Mental Health Reform is today launching its pre-budget submission, in which it divides the funds between €80 million for the development of new services and €40 million for maintaining existing ones.
Despite a target from Government for 10 percent of the health budget to go towards mental health, investment into the sector saw a decrease from 2020, from 6% down to 5.6%.
