Government Decide To Double Payment For Ukrainian Refugee Hosts

The decision was taken today after the government cabinet met remotely today.

The government has agreed to double the payment to those willing to accommodate Ukrainian refugees to 800 euro from December 1st.

It's one of a number of measures agreed by ministers who met remotely today.

There will be an expansion of rapid build and accommodation refurbishment programmes.

Columb Barracks in Mullingar has been considered a potential hosting site.

It's also been decided to maximise places for dormitory style accommodation, while there will be a new state led vacant homes call.
