There are no places available in the county until 2027.
The waiting list for childcare services in Westmeath is the worst in the country.
That's among the findings of a new survey by the Irish Independent, which found places are unavailable there and in Monaghan until 2027.
The study, which observed 220 creches around the country, shows there are less than 35% of areas with a place available currently.
Providers are dependent on cancellations or withdrawals in order to be able to offer a space, while some services have closed their waiting lists.
