
The number of people on the Live Register in Laois, Offaly and Westmeath is on the rise.
It appears unemployment may be on the rise in the midlands.
The latest data from the CSO shows there's been a 3.7% increase of people on the Live Register in the year to April, when compared to the month previous.
The number of people on the Live Register is up 4.7% in Offaly, 4.6% in Laois, and 2% in Westmeath.
Nationally, the total for April was 170,500 people, up by 4.5% from the month previous.
