Both Killeigh's Carol and Willie Grennan and Mullingar's Orla Thornton have been sharing their stories.
Families across the Midlands are highlighting the importance of saving a life through organ donation.
Killeigh's Carol and Willie Grennan lost their son Tiernan in May 2023 to a brain aneurysm at just 20 years old, with the decision to have his kidneys and liver donated.
Organ Donor Awareness Week runs across the country until Sunday, to encourage more people to have the conversation with their families, and to sign up to the cause themselves.
Ms Grennan says the impact can still be felt:
While Mullingar's Nicola Thornton passed away at just 18 years old in 1995, with her liver and corneas successfully donated.
