Farm Safety Week runs this week.
Farmers are being reminded of the unique dangers they face and are being asked to make safer choices on Farm Safety Week.
They're also being urged to stop, think and take action in order to prevent accidents.
It comes as 12 families are mourning the loss of a loved one, in fatalities in farming this year alone with 41% of accidents involving machinery.
President of The Irish Farmers Association and Laois man Francie Gorman says Agriculture Minister Michael Healy-Rae is also providing money for free health checks:
The Health and Safety Authority is calling for a renewed commitment from farmers, as Farm Safety Week gets underway.
12 people have died in farm accidents so far this year, with one taking place in Westmeath.
Three quarters of the cases involved someone over the age of 65.
