Midlands Food Appeal Being Scaled Back Following Founders Illness

The councillor was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

A midlands food appeal is being scaled back following its founder taking a break due to health issues. 

Offaly Councillor Ken Smollen, who runs the Ken Smollen food appeal, was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year. 

As a result, the Offaly branch of the service will be temporarily suspended, but the Portarlington Mountmellick team will operate as normal.
