In the first case of its kind in the country, 44 year old Alicia Edosa of the Harbour, Market Point and 31 year old Edith Enoghaghase of Meeting House Lane were found guilty by a jury after a six week trial at Mullingar Circuit Court.
The case relates to four women who had harrowing journeys to Ireland and hoped to get jobs but were forced into prostitution.
One victim was threatened that her entire family in Nigeria would be killed if she didn't follow instructions.
