Midlands Gardaí Plead For Collective Focus On The Roads This Bank Holiday Weekend

Drivers, pedestrians, and e-scooter users are being asked to keep their mind on what their doing.

Slow down, pay attention and be mindful of the weather.

That's the advice for road users from Gardaí this bank holiday weekend.

There have been 155 road deaths so far this year, with 15 of those in the midlands. 

There will be checkpoints and patrols in the region to target drink and drug driving. 

A new study from the AA has found the number of road collisions rises once the clock's go back for winter, which will happen in the early hours of this Sunday morning. 

It also shows crashes increase by 23% in the autumn months when compared to summertime.
