Midlands Has Highest Number Of Children In Care Without Social Worker

The social worker looks after a child's care plan, to ensure they get services they require.

The midlands has the highest number of children in care without an allocated social worker.

There are just under 5,900 children in care across the state. 

And, according to Tusla's latest figures, 379 of them don't have a social worker.

Of those, 66 are in the midlands and 42 are in Louth and Meath. 

Suzanne Connolly, the Chief Executive of children's charity, Barnardos says the figures are very concerning:
