It's after severe drought conditions in recent weeks.
A national hosepipe ban will remain in place despite heavy rain forecast over the coming days, according to Irish Water.
The utility issued the ban on June 8th and will be in place until July 21st with fines of 125 euro for those found to be in breach.
According to the Irish Times, Irish Water says the drought is so severe the rain last week and the wet weather forecast for this week isn't enough to replenish reservoirs.
