The country is projected to waste over €1.2 billion worth of food by the end of the year.

Households in the Midlands have wasted more than €31 million worth of food so far this year.

That's according to Too Good To Go, which says we are throwing out €3 million worth of food every single day.

The country is on track to waste more than €1.2 billion worth of food by the end of the year.

A large proportion of the items being binned are everyday staples like bread, fresh fruit and vegetables.

Machaela O'Leary from Too Good To Go, which rescues unsold food, has this advice on eggs:
