Housing commencements across the midlands are down for the month of February.
The Department of Housing's latest data shows construction began on just 21 homes across the three counties last month.
Laois led the way with eight, down from 11 for the same month in 2024.
There were just seven commencements in Westmeath, a near 80% drop on the 32 homes the year previous.
And the figure in Offaly for February of this year is five, compared to 15 in 2024.
