Midlands Junior Minister Says Cases Must Plateau Before Restrictions Can Be Relaxed

A midlands minister says the government is waiting for case numbers to plateau before making changes to current restrictions.

Peter Burke says it's predicted the current Omicron wave will level off by next week, judging by the trajectory of the virus in South Africa and the UK. 

NPHET did not recommend any changes to close contact rules yesterday, after the highest daily case numbers since the start of the pandemic were recorded.
