It comes from an ongoing Law Society of Ireland investigation.
The founder of a popular Laois music festival has been found to have used money from his solicitor's practice clients to fund the running of the festival.
The Irish Times is reporting Phillip Meagher from Midland Legal Solicitors in Portlaoise was suspended by the Law Society of Ireland earlier this month.
The Law Society's investigation discovered the festival was propped up financially by the money of legal clients over the course of a three year period.
Clients funds were found to be in deficit to the tune of €1.1 million at one point in August this year.
The situation was resolved when ticket sales income was used to correct the deficits.
When asked for comment, Mr Meagher pointed to a previous statement in which he said he was "positively engaged in a process with the Law Society" and that the primary issue which gave rise to the proceedings had been addressed before the order was made.
