A Laois leisure centre had to close its doors early due to what they're calling "a distressing and violent situation" yesterday.
Laois Leisure in Portarlington made the announcement on their social media platforms saying a "serious incident of anti-social behaviour" between customers resulted in them having to close early.
Gardaí are confirming they're investigating a public order incident that occurred at around 6pm yesterday evening.
They're saying those involved had dispersed by the time they arrived.
A staff member at the centre is recovering after attending the emergency department of the Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise following anti-social behaviour from customers.
Laois Leisure, which reopened today, thanked the public for the concern shown for their team earlier.
