Schools across Laois, Offaly and Westmeath are being encouraged to join the European Union’s ‘Blue Star’ education programme.
A Midlands MEP is calling on schools across Laois, Offaly and Westmeath to register for the European Union’s ‘Blue Star’ education programme.
Nina Carberry joined European Movement Ireland and the INTO at Mullingar Educate Together National School earlier this year to highlight the programme and open registrations for the 2026/27 school year.
Around 12% of primary schools took part in the programme nationally last year, with just under three weeks left to register before the mid-October deadline.
Pupils taking part in the free programme learn about Europe through four key areas - history, geography, culture and the EU institutions.
