Midlands Minister Promises Billion Euro Flood Defence Investment By 2030

Robert Troy says the State has spend around €250m since 2020.

A Midlands Junior Minister says the government is stepping up with a €1bn for flood defences by the end of the decade. 

A new working group to address gaps in flood insurance protection was launched this week.

It will examine options for homeowners refused insurance or hit by steep premium increases due to flood-risk assessments.

The group was established one year after the Government launched its Action Plan for Insurance Reform.
