Irene Lynch passed away on Monday.

A midlands mum who died after crash is due to be laid to rest next week.

Athlone's Irene Lynch passed way in Monday, following a single-vehicle collision in the Menlo area of Galway City ten days earlier.

She's been remembered as a good friend with a "smile so big it could light up a room."

Irene's funeral mass is due to take place on Monday morning in St. Peter and Paul's Church in Coosan.

She's survived by her son Daniel, daughter Isobel, parents Pat and Anne, and her brothers and sisters.
