Midlands Publicans Disheartened Having Turn Away Customers From Empty Pubs

One Wesmeath vintner explains why the positivity of yesterday's partial reopening was soured.

A midlands publican says it was disheartening having to turn down so many customers yesterday, while having so much empty commercial space.

People flocked to pubs and restaurants around the midlands yesterday as the ban on outdoor dining was lifted.

But Liam Gilleran from Gilleran's Pub in Mullingar says the positive day was soured, knowing that more customers weren't allowed into the building, despite hotels being allowed to operate as normal for guests:
