Midlands Region Joins UNESCO Learning Network

Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford are joining UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities.

The Midlands Region of Ireland is set to join UNESCO's Global Network of Learning Cities.

Spanning across Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath, Ireland’s Midlands Region supports learning, skills development, education and workforce advancement.

UNESCO is adding 72 new cities from 46 countries to their initiative, which recognises local commitment to making the right to education a reality for learners of every age.

Midlands Regional Skills Forum Manager, John Costello believes they can offer creativity and ideas with European counterparts.
