The cost of renting a home in the midlands has increased by over 10% in 12 months.
The average price of rent in the midlands has reached just under €1,500.
Daft.ie have released their Rental Price Report for the final quarter of 2023.
Laois, Offaly and Westmeath all saw an increase of over 10% in the price of rent when compared to the same period in 2022.
The most exepensive county for rent in the region is Westmeath, costing €1,539, though Westmeath did see the smallest increase for the midlands at 10.1%.
In Offaly, rent will set you back an average of €1,482, a yearly increase of just under 14%.
That's closely followed by Laois, with a rise in rent of 14.2 percent bringing the total average to €1,476.
Rents have risen by 6.8% year on year across the country, with the national cost of rent now at over €1,800.
