A midlands special school has been given approval to appoint a contractor for a new building.
Plans for the building for Kolbe Special School in Portlaoise have been delayed for a number of years, sparking anger from parents and staff.
The ESB has been completing enabling works on the site of the new building for a number of months, but that work has now been completed.
Along with confirmation the school can now appoint a contractor, it's been revealed the new building must be finished by September 2025.
