Removal Of BOI Services Is"Death By A Thousand Cuts" For Rural Ireland Says Midlands TD

It follows their decision to remove ATM services from another midlands town.

The incremental removal of banking services from midlands communities is akin to death by a thousand cuts for rural Ireland. 

That's according to Laois-Offaly TD Carol Nolan, who's calling on Bank of Ireland to reverse a decision to remove its ATM service from Banagher.

The move is part of the institution's wider policy of withdrawing services from the region, which she believes will devastate the local economy.
