Laois and Offaly will now be part of the Midlands-North West constituency.
A midlands TD could have their eyes sight on Europe, as a result of changes to the country's constituencies.
Lecturer of Geography at Maynooth University, Colt's Adrian Kavanagh thinks Laois Offaly Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen could be elected as the country's 14th MEP.
The Electoral Commission yesterday recommended Laois and Offaly be moved from the Ireland-South constituency, to Midlands-North West, which would see it become a five-seater.
