TDs and Senators across Laois, Offaly and Westmeath are backing the new initiative.
TDs across the Midlands have joined a new group in the Oireachtas dedicated to improving heart health.
The Heart and Stroke group is to be formed following lobbying from the Irish Heart Foundation, as a new cardiovascular disease policy has not been set for over five years.
They're also calling on the group to increase high blood pressure awareness and greater investment in cardiac rehabilitation programmes.
Offaly Independent TD Carol Nolan, Longford Westmeath Fine Gael TDs Peter Burke and Micheal Carrigy, Westmeath Senator Paul Daly and Laois Fine Gael Deputy, Willie Aird have all joined the cause.
