The Scienece and Health building in SETU Carlow is among five new buildings announced.
A midlands university is set to benefit from a near €400m Public Private Partnership investment.
A new Science and Health building will be constructed on campus at SETU Carlow.
The 6,100 m2 facility feature undergraduate and postgraduate science labs, general teaching spaces, a learning resource space, and administrative and ancillary rooms.
The construction will be one of five buildings delivered under the Higher Education PPP Programme.
Phase two will cost around €380m.

TUS Athlone were part of the first phase announcement, with a 6,100 m2 STEM building being constructed in Westmeath.
