Minister Harris Condemns Recent Attacks On Gardaí

A midlands Garda was taken to hospital following an incident last week.

The Justice Minister says criminals do not have the right to privacy if they attack front-line Gardaí.

Simon Harris has introduced legislation in the Dáil, to allow officers to wear body cameras.

A pilot scheme will be rolled out in December, as an additional protection measure for members of the force while on the job.

The Garda Representative Association repeated their calls for the introduction of bodycams last week, after a Garda suffered face and hand injuries in an incident in Athlone.
