Minister Proposes 'Returnships' To Incentivise Mothers Back Into Workforce

FRS Recruitment in Tullamore outlines some of the barriers to working mothers.

The cost and availability of childcare is one of the biggest barriers to women returning to work after pregnancy. 

Colin Donnery, general manager of FRS Recruitment in Tullamore, also says an unemployed mother is three times less likely to gain employment than a woman without children. 

Social Protection Minister Regina Doherty wants to introduce ''returnships'' to incentivise mothers back into the workforce to address a talent gap in certain areas.
