Over 3,386 nurses and midwifes are currently registered as practicing in the Midlands.
It comes from the latest figures of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in their State of the Register 2024 report.
1,315 people are registered in Westmeath - with 1,064 in Offaly and 1,007 in Laois.
Offaly has the biggest net change from last years figures at 8% - with Westmeath at 5% and Laois at 4%.
Nationally, the figure of those registered stands at 89,496 - that's a 5% increase on last year and the largest national figure ever.
