A Westmeath mother says the new mortgage-to-rent scheme has saved her family home from repossession.
Daragh Clerkin has been struggling to meet her €1200 a month mortgage payments and was facing losing her home to the bank.
But she's signed a deal with mortgage-to-rent organisation, Home For Life - which has bought her house, is leasing it to the county council, and Ms. Clerkin now rents it from the local authority.
It means the family now pays €96 in rent each week.
The Killucan mum-of-seven says home ownership isn't important, now that there's a secure roof over her family's heads:
