Gardaí made a number of speeding detections during a recent operation.
Gardaí in Offaly have issued a fine to a motorist detected speeding near a national school.
The driver was travelling at 84km/h in a 50km/h zone close to a primary school in Birr.
A number of other speeding detections were made and will also be dealt with through fixed penalty notices.
