Motorists are being warned of difficult travelling conditions this morning, with a weather warning in place until 11am.
The Status Yellow low temperature and ice warning is in place around the country, including Laois, Offaly and Westmeath.
Temperatures in some areas could hit as low as minus five, with the country set to remain in the grips of an arctic blast until the end of the week.
The north and northwest could see some snow.
